Points grouped by system

Open a group to read its points. Each mark records what the inspector observed at the time of inspection, not what the listing claimed.

PassCautionFail

  • Cold start, idle stability, oil and coolant condition
  • Turbocharger play, intercooler sealing, belt and tensioner wear

Groups are graded point by point. A caution marks wear or an open question, not a failed vehicle. Read the full inspection limits before relying on the report.

What the dossier contains

Every inspection produces one document. It records the vehicle as presented, the measurements taken, and a written verdict for each system. The inspection report reflects conditions accessible at the time of inspection and is not a warranty, guarantee, or insurance policy.

What a dossier cannot tell you

One visit, in daylight, with the seller present. Below is what stays out of reach, and where an answer depends on paperwork rather than a socket wrench. We name the gaps instead of filling them with confidence.

Out of reach

  • Sealed assemblies. Gearbox internals, transfer case and differential bearings are judged by behaviour, never by opening the housing.
  • Covers and trays. Sill covers, underbody plastics and fresh rust-proofing hide structure until removed, and we do not dismantle trim.
  • Paint over an old repair. A thickness gauge reads filler depth, not the quality of the weld beneath it.
  • Cleared fault memory. Every module that responds is read, yet cleared or reset memory may leave no trace in the scan.
  • Wear after the visit. Tyres, brakes and clutch can change within weeks of a handover.

Depends on records

  • Service stamps. Confirmed only as far as the manufacturer database and the invoice set allow.
  • Imported cars. Mileage chains from abroad often stop at the border crossing.
  • Insurance repairs. Settled privately or for cash, a repair can leave no public trace.
  • Owner count. Transfers recorded before 2013 are indexed unevenly across registries.

The inspection report reflects conditions accessible at the time of inspection and is not a warranty, guarantee, insurance policy or substitute for the seller's own disclosures. Maintenance history depends on the records and databases available for this vehicle; where records are missing, the report says so openly.
